The new version of DVD has introduced connection to several new data sources and virtually most of Big Data Sources like - Apache Drill, Cassandra, Spark, MapR, Google Cloud, Google Analytics, Google Drive etc.,
But, what I wanted to test is the connection to OBI Catalog and make use of OBI analysis to build visualizations using Oracle DVD. So I add a new OBI 12c connection following these steps -
I thought this would be an easy task, googling for any insights into this error did not fetch any results.
I raised an SR with Oracle and apparently this issue been logged in as a Bug 24596710 : FAILED TO SAVE THE CONNECTION WITH INVALID CONNECT STRING/URL TO EXTERNAL SOURCE, awaiting resolution from development team.
i have tried several times, but dvd is not working on 11g. it shows invalid password error.

DeleteYes you can connect to OBIEE from Oracle DV Desktop. There seems to be a bug with SSL connection but Non SSL works fine.
